Our purpose as a church is, simply, to "Walk intimately with God and to Invite others to journey with us".
We get that purpose from the Bible in Matthew 22 where it says, "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
We realize that Christ has made it so simple for us. But although it sounds so easy, we realize there needs to be a community around to support those who are striving to follow Christ's words in this world.
Our Values
Fusion – Becoming like Jesus is the natural result of connection with Him. We desire to be a church that is full of individuals who have a living, breathing, walking, talking relationship with Jesus and become more and more like Him everyday.
Direction -- We believe that God has revealed Himself to us in the inspired words of the Scriptures. The 66 books of the Canon of Scripture are the ultimate doctrinal authority in all matters. It is this book that we must study intently and apply appropriately to our lives
Communion – We believe that the redemptive work of Jesus enables humanity to experience the community that God intended. As interdependent parts of the body, our greatest accomplishments are realized only as we work together under the Lordship of Jesus.
Inclusion – Through Jesus. Love permeates all relationships - We desire to be a church that is excellent at enfolding all people into our community - white and black (every nationality and ethnicity), rich and poor, young and old…”
Mission– We believe that God created men in his image (Imago Dei) and as image bearers each follower of Jesus Christ should find his unique role in the mission of God (Missio Dei). We believe that as we grow in Christ-likeness every human being, irrespective of his past, can experience the glorious purpose for which he was created. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10
Compassion--We believe God cares deeply about the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of every person. Therefore, Christ has called us to compassionate service. Compelled by love to live out and proclaim the gospel of Jesus, the church is to care for one another and engage culture by bringing hope to all. We will address tangible needs by advocating for the defenseless, seeking justice for the downtrodden, and lifting up the downcast. (Matthew 14:15 – 21; James 1:27).
LFC is part of a greater community of churches. We belong to the Alberta Baptist Association of churches and value serving our province with 60+ other sister churches.
We enjoy being able to be part of many retreats (Youth, Women's, Men's) held annually at Camp Caroline.
We are also part of a larger conference of churches in the North American Baptist Conference.
We hold to the NABC Statement of Faith.
Being a member of Leduc Fellowship Church is really about being part of a family. Members who enter into a covenant with their local church are called to a higher degree of responsibility and service. At the same time, church leadership are covenanted to assist members first and foremost, to love and lead, pray for, teach and guide them.
